Semi gantry crane is composed of bridge, crane running mechanism, trolley running mechanism and hoisting mechanism. This crane is a combination of overhead crane and gantry crane. It is designed with one leg riding on wheels or rails and the other side of the crane riding on a runway system connected to building columns or a side wall of the building structure. This type of crane can be adapted to both indoor and outdoor applications. 

Advantage:

1. It can also be installed below a pre-existing large overhead crane to increase your work efficiency without getting in the way of the overhead lifting process.

2. When the installation is only temporary, a Semi gantry crane can be moved to a new location easier than an overhead crane and its runway can easily be changed.

3. Semi gantry crane can save you floor space / work space. Unlike a bridge crane, this setup doesn't need two runways supported by or tied back to building columns.
